Serpentine Series Super Damper Applications


The ATI Serpentine Super Damper contains grooves for serpentine belts machined into the outer damper shell. The dampers come standard with 6 outer grooves for standard OEM drive systems. 8 & 10 grooves are available for supercharger or turbo applications.

We currently have dampers for the Ecotec, LS1, LS7, LT1 and LT4 GM engines, Ford modular 4.6 engine, and the Toyota JZ80 and 4YE engines. Double serpentine pulleys dampers are also available for 1998 and later F or Y body, LS-1 equipped vehicles with A/C

The dampers are available in OEM 7.5" diameter, 6.75" diameter for 10% under-drive on accessories, and 5.5" outer shell diameters. Crank hubs may be fitted with a 6 groove serpentine pulley to drive external oil pumps or vehicle accessories at 60% crank speed.

The Serpentine Series dampers fit all ATI GM-front crank hubs and can be adapted to many engine combinations providing maximum flexibility. The dampers are available in steel or lightweight hard-coated aluminum and come with laser engraved 360° timing marks. Exceeds SFI 18.1 specs.

[8] Use hub part # 916033A for integral 8mm 28 tooth HTD pulley.
[9] Contains 40 durometer rubber. Not for full race engines. Ask for technical help or specify 66 rubber.
[10] This hub has a 3-bolt pattern. For a 6-bolt pattern, use hub # 916048A.
[11] Damper assemblies have all countersunk bolts so nothing protrudes past front of damper. If you have an older damper & are ordering a new shell assemblies only, you must cut a .090” x 45° chamfer on the front of your hub. ATI can also perform this operation for $40 if you send your hub in.
[12] Damper is 12% UD from stock; not for over 600HP on the street

  How to read this chart
  1. Choose the specific engine application listed down the left side of the chart
  2. Determine if the damper needs to be internally or externally balanced ( external balance dampers are constructed of steel only). Black bars that extend horizontally across the entire chart designate these sections
  3. Determine if you need steel or aluminum shells. Labels for this information are listed across the top of the chart in columns 2 and 3.
  4. Once you have determined the shell material, you need to find the outside diameter (OD) of the desired steel or aluminum shell. Then choose between 2 or 3 rings and the desired weight of the damper.
  5. From the far right section of the chart, select either a steel or aluminum hub for your desired engine application. To determine the correct damper assembly part number that intersects is the correct damper assembly.
